The 80th Independence Day of the Nation was observed with deep patriotic fervour and collective enthusiasm at Coast Guard Kindergarten (CGKG), Meenabakkam on 15 August 2026. Mrs. S. Sangeetha, IDAS, Senior Deputy Integrated Financial Adviser, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and inspired the gathering with her presence.
The celebrations commenced with the ceremonial hoisting of the National Flag by the Chief Guest, followed by the solemn rendering of the National Anthem. Young students of the school then presented a colourful and culturally vibrant programme that reflected their genuine love for the motherland. Through patriotic songs, energetic dance performances, and confident speeches, the children showcased the values of unity, courage, and national pride that form the foundation of our Republic.
A special highlight of the morning was the release of tricolour balloons, which filled the sky with the colours of the National Flag and drew enthusiastic cheers from students, staff, and parents alike. The festive atmosphere underscored the joy of freedom and the collective responsibility to uphold the ideals for which our freedom fighters sacrificed.
During her visit, the Chief Guest interacted warmly with the children. The students greeted her with infectious energy and cheerful enthusiasm. She appreciated the high quality of the performances and specially commended the well-maintained school premises, which stand as a testament to the commitment of the teaching and administrative staff.
The event concluded on a joyful yet reflective note, leaving every participant with a renewed sense of commitment towards the values and ideals of our great Nation.
